Azure Migration Strengthens Hope’s Promise and Reduces Costs

Hope’s Promise improved its operations by moving its systems into Azure, cutting expenses, increasing reliability, and giving staff secure access wherever they work.

This case study follows Hope’s Promise, a nonprofit with staff spread across several countries, as it migrated from aging servers to Microsoft Azure with support from its MSP and Pax8.

The effort began with a close look at what the organization already had: long-neglected folders, outdated applications, and servers reaching their limits. The team shortened overly long filenames, rebuilt cluttered directories, and prepared older programs so they would run smoothly in the cloud. They also set up Azure Active Directory and shaped a desktop layout that felt familiar to staff, which helped keep day-to-day work steady.

During the migration, files were shifted into Azure, and OneDrive replaced local storage. Staff could reach what they needed without signing into a VPN, which made life easier for teams overseas. The change trimmed roughly $5,000 in hardware and backup costs and left Hope’s Promise with a cleaner, more secure system that supports its mission more effectively.
