Delivering cybersecurity solutions will soon reach a new level of urgency for MSPs.

A new forecast predicts the global cyber insurance market will double between now and 2030. That means managed service providers (MSPs) should expect legions of customers ready to ensure their systems are protected across the entire IT stack.

SMBs in particular will need trusted advisors who can take care of increasingly complex technology so they can put their focus on running their business.

For MSPs that aren’t ready right now, finding the right partners to get them ready will be important.

“Regardless of industry, size or location ... no organization is immune to falling victim to a cyberattack,” risk management consultant, Munich Re, wrote in a report, “Cyber Insurance Risks and Trends: 2025” published in April on its findings.

This new report expects the cyber insurance market to grow from more than $16 billion now to $32 billion in five years. But to qualify for cyber insurance and stay in compliance with terms, businesses need to show they have invested in and deployed cybersecurity solutions. And those requirements are essentially the same for large and small or mid-sized businesses – whether they have in-house expertise or not.

That’s where MSPs can make a compelling argument for their expertise. SMB customers often find themselves overwhelmed not just by the technology but by running their business. By de-mystifying cybersecurity, and delivering best-in-breed tech, MSPs will deliver SMB clients protection and measurable value with their cyber insurance budgets.

Pax8 cloud marketplace powers MSP cybersecurity solutions

MSPs should also see their opportunities to deliver cybersecurity solutions grow. Turning to trusted partners, like Pax8, to help them meet the moment will be more critical than ever.

Pax8, the cloud marketplace tailored to MSPs, provides a growing lineup of cybersecurity offerings - as well as training, marketing, discounts and invoicing capabilities for channel partners.

The company’s partnerships include a recent agreement with cybersecurity vendor Sophos and a collaboration with the Center for Internet Security on a CIS Controls Handbook. CIS Controls are a set of prescribed, simplified and prioritized best practices to strengthen cybersecurity.

For businesses, meeting those best practices and safeguards is key to complying with cyber insurance requirements. It also keeps malicious actors at bay.

Pax8’s marketplace for MSPs also provides a Cyber Insurance Readiness Guide - an easy-to-digest checklist for MSPs on best practices for keeping customers compliant with policy requirements. This guide also provides its partners with a broader view of what is drawing their customers’ interest.

“We help MSPs streamline the billing process and even show them usage data directly within our platform so they can see which customers are consuming which services,” Ryan Burton, vice president of vendor marketplace strategy with Pax8, told CRN upon the company’s new partnership with Sophos.
